ADHD Assessments:
Information about ADHD assessments: Dr Naya Williams provides ADHD assessments for adults (18+) via telehealth. ADHD assessments are completed using validated assessment tools, including psychometrics, clinician administered semi-structured interviews with the client, and collateral information with someone known to the client to obtain symptom history across the lifespan. A detailed report will be written and provided to the client, and if required, their GP, following the assessment.Costs: • $1800.00 NZD required to be paid prior to the assessment.
What the ADHD assessment includes: Administration of online questionnaires • Self-report and observer-report questionnaires will be sent out to you: These assess current ADHD symptoms. The observer-report must be completed by someone who knows you well, such as a parent, or sibling.
Individual interview Assessment with Clinical Psychologist• You will attend a one-hour semi-structured interview focused on ADHD symptoms.• Life history and mental health history relevant to exploring an ADHD diagnosis will also be collected.
Collateral Collection of Childhood symptoms• A review of ADHD symptoms prior to age 12 will be undertaken, conducted through a 30-minute phone call or email interview with someone who knew you as a child (e.g., a parent or sibling).
Inclusion of other collateral information: • You will be asked to submit any school reports or other documentation that can offer further insight into symptoms from childhood or adolescence. Any information will be viewed and included if relevant.
Report writing • A comprehensive report will be written and made available within 4 weeks. This report can be sent to your GP at your request. This report will include all relevant information gathered and testing completed, as well as details of any formal diagnosis provided.
Feedback session • A 1hr feedback session is included in the fee for the report to be read back to the client. Whānau are welcome to attend this appointment if the client wishes to have whānau present. • A brief phone call to a whānau member to provide psychoeducation about a client’s diagnosis can also be arranged if required.
